Statistical hypotheses (HO) and (HA) and their application in quantitative research Abstract The main purpose of this article is to pay attention to the use of null and null statistical assumptions in quantitative research. The null hypothesis is used in applied research, especially in experimental research, to confirm or reject a hypothesis, due to inferential statistics, widely used by researchers in various fields of humanities, especially psychology, educational sciences, management and sociology. The absurd hypothesis is for proving geometric theorems, which is a temporary hypothesis from which a false proposition can be concluded with the help of reasoning.‬ the use of these two words has been discussed separately and abundantly, in terms of science and research, but nothing has been said about the connection between these words. This article deals with the relationship between these assumptions. Also, in this writing, their similarities and differences are mentioned. Among the results, it is that the researcher is faced with an error in obtaining the result of the null hypothesis, but the result of the absurd hypothesis has no error.‬
