Abstract:
Discourse as a method is an approach in the social sciences and humanities that analyzes and interprets texts, speeches, and social interactions. This approach is based on the belief that language and speech are not only tools of communication but also construct social reality. This article seeks to analyze Laclau and Mouffe's discourse method as a powerful tool for a deeper understanding of social and cultural relations. The main objective of this research is to answer the fundamental question of how Laclau and Mouffe's discourse method can contribute to the analysis and interpretation of the complexities of human society and the influence of language on behaviors and attitudes. In this research, the method of critical discourse analysis (CDA) is used to examine how power relations are reproduced and reinforced through discourse. Using this method, it will be shown how Laclau and Mouffe's method can contribute to the analysis of the discourse of power and reveal the hidden mechanisms within it. The research population of this study consists of texts related to Laclau and Mouffe's discourse method, including scientific articles and books by scholars in this field. The findings of this research will show that Laclau and Mouffe's discourse method, by providing a precise and coherent framework, enables a deeper and more comprehensive analysis of discourse and, by emphasizing concepts such as the central signifier, floating signifiers, and articulation, helps researchers to gain a better understanding of the complexities of human society and the influence of language on behaviors and attitudes. The results of this research can be useful and enlightening for researchers and enthusiasts in this field.
